| A Personal Note:
After 8 years in a high-volume, insurance driven dental office
I knew that it was time to develop the kind of practice I
could believe in and that would genuinely serve my patients
well. When I opened Contemporary Cosmetic Dentistry in 2001,
it was with a commitment to patient-centered, comprehensive
care. Neither of us is content to work within the status quo
for dentistry and we continually seek out opportunities to
study with professionals from around the world who are on
the cutting edge in our industry.
The value of our more holistic approach has hit very close
to home. My sister-in-law had suffered from temporomandibular
disorder (TMJD) for years and juggled numerous medications
to ease the pain. Conventional dental approaches (night guard/splint
methods) had failed her and a physical therapist had told
her that surgery and continued physical therapy would be her
only options. As our knowledge of advanced dental care has
grown, we were able to conservatively restore her lower back
teeth to successfully treat her. She is now pain and drug
free without the surgery or ongoing medical attention.
Having the time to really listen, the expertise to appropriately
diagnose, and the equipment and skill to offer truly comprehensive
medical care has given me a renewed enthusiasm for dentistry.
I really like being in a position to make a difference for
not only my sister-in-law, but others like her as well. I
genuinely believe that Contemporary Cosmetic Dentistry begins
where traditional dentistry leaves off.
