State-of-the-Art Dental Technology

We offer you the latest, most effective technology in reconstructive and aesthetic dentistry--equipment that many people don’t even know exists in today’s dental world. With tools ranging from a soft tissue laser to computerized mandibular scanning we can enhance your overall health and appearance, and help you keep your teeth for a lifetime. Take a few minutes to learn more about the equipment and why it’s important to you.

Environmental consciousness
As part of our commitment to the environment, we are one of only a few offices in Texas with a mercury filtration system. In California and Maine legislation has been introduced, and in Vermont legislation has already passed, to manage mercury-containing dental wastewater as hazardous material and to regulate its recycling. Our device will prevent mercury lamp waste from entering the Edwards Aquifer and its sensitive ecosystem.

Greater treatment effectiveness and less pain
The soft-tissue laser, a pen-like device that emits gentle pulses of light, enables us to perform many procedures without anesthesia. We can treat painful ulcers in less than five minutes. No longer will you have to experience the post-operative trauma usually associated with conventional electro surgery for sculpting the gingival tissues.

Increased safety and time efficiency
Digital radiography is the latest analytical tool in diagnosis and produces up to 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays. Similar to a digital camera, it allows us to instantly display your images on our computer monitor for further diagnosis.

Quieter and less stressful environment
We also use whisper-quiet electric hand pieces. They turn 50% slower than the traditional air-driven hand pieces (which produce the unpleasant high-pitched sound commonly associated with dental office visits). Electric hand pieces also reduce friction-related heat and post-operative sensitivity.

More patient involvement and feedback

Our digital intra-oral camera enables our clients to see what the dentist sees. With the aid of our digital camera and advanced software, we can digitally restructure a smile and immediately provide our clients with images of potential makeovers.

State-of-the-art equipment means you receive the best dental care available today.

TECHNOLOGY
Bioelectronics
Computerized bioelectronics allow us to accurately diagnose musculoskeletal disorders in the craniomandibular system. Below is a brief description of our instrumentation, products of myotronics.

  Digital Mandibular Scanning
A lightweight array tracks jaw motion in a series of tests with a magnet attached below the lower front teeth. The data collected is displayed for evaluation.

  Electromyography
Surface EMG measures muscle activity at rest and in function. It will objectively quantify muscle dysfunction and allows for optimal diagnosis and treatment. EMG is done before and after Transcutaneous Electrical Neural Stimulation (TENS) and simultaneously with jaw tracking.

  Joint Sonography

Highly sensitive vibration transducers capture joint sounds and correlate to vertical dimension of opening and closing. This valuable information aids in assessing the status of the TMJ.
